Guemes Island All-electric ferry

Presentation by Ockerman Associates

Guemes Island All-electric ferry Skagit County is currently conducting a feasibility analysis for an all-electric ferry to replace the 36-year old M/V Guemes. As a County, we are very excited about all-electric technology as there are currently no all-electric car ferries operating anywhere in the United States. Skagit County has invited John Ockerman, with Ockerman Automation, to give an informational presentation to our Board of Commissioners. Ockerman Automation is an electrical engineering consulting group specializing in the design and application of shipboard control systems. The company has quickly emerged as an industry leader in the field of marine systems engineering & systems automation. In 1991 the company partnered with Siemens to become the U.S. based Siemens marine automation solutions provider. You are invited to attend and learn more.
